Do You Want to Build An Education? My 6th Graders Definitely Do!

This poster says it all!

Recently, my 6th Graders created a wonderful Public Service Announcement encouraging others to remain in school.  With Disney's Frozen as their inspiration, they want to know, "Do You Want to Build An Education?"

Here is the video, which was selected as the Middle School Winner for the Cumberland County Schools Flipping the Script Contest:

For their hard work, my students received Ten Kindle Fire Tablets! Thanks to the CCS Federal Programs Department for donating the tablets, which will be utilized for instructional purposes!

Test Run before the exciting live premiere (Friday, January 9, 2015 beginning at 5:00 PM  until 6:00 PM) of  iTEACH - The Tar Heel Teachers Radio Show!  Tune in to be entertained and informed by a diverse group of educators only on Bronco-iRADIO.com!

I have always had a strong impulse to be a talk show host, beginning when I first saw the cartoon version of Oprah Winfrey pulling the Harpo Productions Sign.  I was completely mesmerized by what I saw.

Fast forward 20 years, and my dream has become a reality with the creation of Tar Heel Teachers (an educational panel show).

Thus far, we have enjoyed taping two episodes. I am very fortunate to work with a magnetic team in front of the camera and behind!

I have been over the moon shooting the monthly talk show, and the feedback has been wonderful!  Now, I am positively elated because we will now host a weekly radio show!  Ray Thomas (Radio Personality and General Manager of Bronco-iRADIO.com) saw the talk show, and we have determined that there is also a need for iTEACH - The Tar Heel Teachers Radio Show! The show begins Friday, January 9th (5:00 PM -6:00 PM)!

He was even gracious enough to allow us to momentarily take over his show, RTVS Live (Ray Thomas Variety Show) on December 22nd in preparation for iTEACH - The Tar Heel Teachers Radio Show. We are beyond thrilled to partner with Ray Thomas and Fayetteville State University on this project!

Granting us access to his show was very Oprah of Ray Thomas! Remember, Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz both got their starts on The Oprah Winfrey Show!

CCS' New Dropout Prevention Public Service Announcement!

Cumberland County Schools is determined to continue reducing the dropout rate for our system.

For the second year in a row, Cumberland County Schools is Flipping the Script on dropout prevention.  A short series of Public Service Announcements (PSAs) were created that showcase "Dante" struggling with the choice to dropout of school.

I proudly appear as "Dante" in this dropout prevention video/series!
